Who are the MSN CYPC Parent and Family Forum?
The MSN CYPC Parent and Family Forum is a group of people from different areas of Scotland who have been affected by family members who have had cancer. They want to take an active part in how cancer services are developed, by addressing issues that affect children and young people with cancer both locally and at a national level. Person-centred care is at the heart of what we do and must be informed by patient and family feedback.
What does the MSN CYPC Parent and Family Forum do?
They contribute to the development of future cancer services by working on projects that aim to improve life for children and young people with cancer. The forum is consulted on policy and documents and asked to comment and feedback on issues relating to many different areas of children and young people being treated for cancer. They provide a parent, carer and family perspective on issues relating to cancer services; this is used to inform the MSN CYPC Board and sub-groups. The forum use their experiences to identify gaps and improve the quality of services by providing feedback. Any projects they are involved with will have support from the MSN CYPC.
Why does the Parent and Family Forum matter?
The MSN CYPC Parent and Family Forum matters because it provides the opportunity to express views and make changes which will influence how the MSN CYPC and the Scottish Government design and deliver health services for children and young people with cancer.
